divh2Rehab Tech/Admin Specialist-Weekends Part-time Days/h2pThis position works in the inpatient rehab department in Huntley Hospital. The schedule for this position is every Saturday, Sunday and Monday working from 7-3:30pm./ppThe Rehab Tech/Admin Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards./ppThe Rehab Tech/Admin Specialist is a non-licensed staff member who assists the professional staff with patient care as defined by those activities that do not require the clinical decision making of a therapist. This staff member assists the business office with clerical and maintenance duties and selected tasks related to the operation of the rehabilitation services department./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliFollows standard precautions and Northwestern Medicine infection control policies and procedures consistently./liliManages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards./liliIndependently maintains all equipment cleaning logs and performs monthly maintenance./liliEnsures EOC meets JCAHO standards at all times./liliDemonstrates competence in performing tasks identified as appropriate treatment for the Rehab Services Tech. Treats patients under direct clinical supervision and anticipates therapists needs during patient care./liliDemonstrates ability to communicate promptly to the therapist any observed changes in patient status and responses (e.g. pain, changes in condition, distress). Clarifies with the therapist any special procedures or observations necessary./liliInteracts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care under the discretion of the therapist. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patients; answers questions within scope of practice./liliConsults other departments as appropriate to provide for interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs./liliFollows all policy and procedures for documentation of treatment appropriately rendered by the rehab tech./liliCommunicates with patients and guests including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity and providing necessary information related to their visit./liliProvides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers./liliSchedules, confirms, and reschedules patients for visits at Rehabilitation Services and its satellite locations./liliAdditional responsibilities may include: ulliObtains patient consents/authorizations./liliManages department specific Rehabilitation Services Call List and communication needs./liliAccurately identifies patient medical record number to avoid duplication of records in system.
