Grow your career as the Medical Director for a modern, privately-owned veterinary hospital in McKinney, TX.

Established in 2022 and already growing 40% year-over-year, the hospital is in an excellent position to welcome an experienced Veterinarian as their Medical Director, working closely and alongside the owner to provide continue the growth of the hospital, providing high-quality veterinary medicine to the communities of McKinney, Prosper, and Frisco.

The 2,300 sq ft facility was purpose-built with a space that is thoughtfully designed for an efficient, low-stress work flow. There are four exam rooms including a large consultation room with natural light, minimal lobby waiting, separate dog and cat wards, and private staff entry via keycard. The hospital is exceptionally well equipped for a GP setting: advanced radiology with AI interpretation, Nomad Pro 2 dental radiography, a dedicated dental suite, modern anesthesia monitoring (SpO₂, BP, EKG), Doppler, mobile abdominal/cardiac ultrasound, monopolar electrocautery, Voyant vessel sealing technology for soft tissue surgery, acupuncture and electroacupuncture equipment, and more. If they need a piece of equipment to provide best-in-class care, they get it!

You’ll be joining a small, deeply united, drama-free team where support is genuine, and communication is a core value. The owner, a highly skilled DVM with over seven years’ experience, performs advanced soft tissue surgery daily and brings in a mobile boarded surgeon four times a month for TPLOs, MPLs, laryngeal tiebacks, and other specialty procedures. You will be involved in the hiring of further Associate Veterinarians as the hospital continues to grow.

This is a full-time position, working 4 days per week and finishing by 4pm with NO WEEKENDS. Appointments are 30 minutes minimum, no after-hours, and a strong tech-to-doctor ratio (2:1, with additional techs available as needed). Each doctor receives their own dedicated technician for the day.

This is an ideal role for someone with a desire for leadership or who has prior experience as a medical director, who values culture, autonomy, mentoring, and practicing high-quality medicine. There is also a future opportunity for equity and partnership.

About You:

  • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
  • You hold (or are eligible for) a Veterinary State License in Texas
  • You value communication, client education, and collaborative teamwork
  • You enjoy practising high-quality veterinary medicine with ample support
  • You’re seeking a positive, drama-free culture where your voice matters
  • Previous experience in a leadership capacity is preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a practising Veterinarian
