Stash Ventures LLC is looking for a Senior Manager, Compliance & Asset Protection to join our compliance department. Our Senior Manager, Complaince & Asset Protection will oversee loss prevention, licensing and security staff while supporting the organizations loss prevention and compliance procedures and efforts to safeguard company assets, prevent and minimize theft, and reduce shortages and fraud. The position will assess operational compliance throughout the business to ensure the protection of company assets, including employee protective measures. This employee will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters.

The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of fostering partnerships with management as well as local and state law enforcement, other third-party partners, and Federal, State, and local regulators. A successful Loss Prevention and Security Manager will plan and direct procedures, policies, and systems, training staff and follow up on continuing education.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Manages compliance and licensing teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting and licensing in accordance with local and state regulations.
  • Oversees and leads procedures, reports, and contracts to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
  • Partners with corporate counsels and Human Resource departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations including the safety programs for our employees and customers.
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies-based on licensing and compliance deadlines within company policy and state due dates. Develops and delivers loss prevention training program for employees.
  • Manages the installation of new security equipment such as security tags, mirrors, surveillance cameras, and electronic security devices to ensure city and state compliance.
  • Performs and oversees audit sites to ensure inventory is processed, handled, and monitored appropriately, and document any errors of failure. Assessing direct reports methods.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements systems to minimize loss of merchandise, money, or company assets.
  • Manages investigations of logs, alleged and actual theft, policy violations and compliance concerns. Reporting the findings to the necessary Directors and managers.
  • Oversee investigations of suspicious customer and/or employee activity as needed. Conducts periodic inspections of stores and facilities to ensure surveillance and security equipment is functioning properly.
  • Leads inspections of stores and facilities to ensure safety guidelines are being taken in accordance with company policy and state rules.
  • Prepares reports on the effectiveness of established prevention measures.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent field or work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in retail operations and loss prevention strategies and procedures.
  • Previous experience with leading a team is highly preferred but not required if related industry experience is sufficient.
  • In-depth knowledge of the cannabis industrys standards and regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • An analytical mind able to see the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
  • CPP certification preferred.
