Job Summary: Hire Up Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled
Oral Surgery Assistant for our client located in Fresno, CA. This position supports the oral surgery team by assisting in various surgical procedures and handling day-to-day tasks in a multi-clinician oral surgery office. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient patient care while adhering to office protocols and infection control standards.
Schedule: - Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday: 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Essential Job Functions: - Prepare treatment rooms and set up trays according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control procedures.
- Take radiographs, digital scans, impressions, vital signs, and assist the dentist during examinations and treatments.
- Assist the dentist in the administration of IV sedation, closely monitoring the patient and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor patients during recovery and report any changes in symptoms to the dentist as needed.
- Provide pre- and postoperative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
- Record treatment details, medical and dental histories, and vital signs in patient charts.
- Ensure that all patient records are complete, accurate, and confidential.
- Maintain a fully stocked operatory and manage necessary supplies.
- Organize and manage patient referrals and updates efficiently.
- Follow office policies, safety, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: - Current CPR Certification.
- Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license).
- Knowledge of the four phases of anesthesia.
- Interest in obtaining Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant (OMSA) Certification.
- Proficient in vital signs monitoring techniques and equipment.
- Completion of a Dental Assisting Program.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Dental Assistant in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and oral surgery instrumentation.
- Ability to accurately document clinical notes, patient information, and procedural details.
- Familiarity with implant systems, sinus kits, bone graft materials, and other similar systems.
- Knowledge of CritiCare monitors and their placement.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow protocols and perform tasks with accuracy.
Preferred Requirements: - One (1) year of experience in an oral surgery or periodontal office as a dental assistant.
- Dental Sedation Assistant (DSA) certification.
