What you’ll do

• Operate and optimize 3-piece can line equipment; perform independent troubleshooting and changeovers.
• Complete daily/department safety checks; correct hazards immediately.
• Own quality checks and records to ensure every order meets customer specs.
• Perform daily care, preventive/predictive maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
• Assist Advanced Operator Technicians with installs, replacements, and mechanical upgrades.
• Champion Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Execute inventory management tasks; operate a forklift for material movement.
• Process hold material quickly—sorting and inspecting as required.
• Receive, store, and maintain chemical inventories used in the metal packaging process.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and 5S across assigned zones.
• Apply Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle, and Food Safety Standard.
• Take on other duties as needed.

What you bring

• English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Computer skills to complete inventory transactions.
• Lean manufacturing familiarity; hands-on experience with machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years in manufacturing (required).
• Forklift/material handling experience (preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude and proficiency verified by standardized mechanical testing.

Schedule & Shifts

• Average hours per week: 40 or 36/48 alternating
• Usual shift worked is: 8 or 12 hours
• Must be willing to work all rotating or permanent shifts, including day and night 8 and/or 12 hour shifts, weekends and holidays.

• Very loud manufacturing floor outside office/lab; hearing protection and assigned PPE required.
• Temperature swings from <40°F to >90°F; strong vibrations; frequent visual and audible alarms.
• Exposure to fumes, dust, odors, and chemicals used in metal manufacturing.

• Regular: stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, grip, pull, feel; talk/hear.
• Frequent: reach with hands/arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl (including confined spaces).
• Computer and electronic screen work required.
• Vision: close and distance vision; color recognition. Good hand–eye coordination required.
• Work on/in/around conveyors and high-speed mechanical equipment in manufacturing and warehouse areas.
