Overview Firmware Engineer opportunity at Actalent. This is a fully onsite position in Torrance, CA. Employment type: Full-time. Experience level: Mid-Senior level. Application deadline: Sep 24, 2025. Responsibilities Develop and optimize embedded firmware for microcontrollers such as STMicroelectronics STM32, Microchip PIC, and Espressif ESP32. Implement and integrate wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa, Zigbee) for IoT and connected device applications. Use and improve interfaces including UART, SPI, I²C, USB; debug with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Apply low-power design principles and optimization techniques; work with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS) or bare-metal firmware. Qualifications Proficiency in C for embedded systems. Solid experience with STMicroelectronics STM32, Microchip PIC, and Espressif ESP32 platforms. Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS) and bare-metal firmware development. Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa, and Zigbee stack integration. Familiarity with UART, SPI, I²C, USB interfaces. Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Solid understanding of low-power design principles and optimization techniques. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $65.00/hr.
