Job Description

Apex Systems is currently hiring for Datacenter Network Engineer. We are seeking a skilled Datacenter Network Engineer to join our dynamic team, on an 36 month contract. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Network Engineering . As a Datacenter Network Engineer, responsibilities will include designing, implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure within datacenter environment. The primary focus will be on ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the datacenter network, while also providing support and troubleshooting for network-related issues. This particular role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure within the datacenter environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design network solutions that meet business needs.
  • Configure and deploy network devices, including Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco routers, Cisco Firepower firewalls, F5 load balancers, and other network equipment.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network operation and minimize downtime.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control policies.
  • Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems and applications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and end-users for network-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in network technologies, and make recommendations for network infrastructure improvements.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on datacenter environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Strong understanding of network hardware, such as Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco routers, Cisco Firepower firewalls, and F5 load balancers.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Cisco Secure Workload and SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP are highly desirable.
