The CGI Federal, Inc is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join an existing AWS Infrastructure Engineering team focused on maintenance of asset management systems and other services in AWS GovCloud. Use automation tools and AWS services to both re-platform and refactor existing systems depending on system maturity and customer roadmaps. The candidate will coordinate and collaborate with their immediate account-based engineering team and with other account teams with similar project scope, supported by CGI Federal’s partnership with AWS Professional Services. This position is located at a client site office location in Washington, DC. Your future duties and responsibilities Responsibilities Deploy AWS EC2 environments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support Test and Development, Production, and Disaster Recovery efforts and distribute major software or architectural updates to existing environments as needed by application teams Implement and execute the automated deployment of infrastructure within an AWS Environment using tools such as Terraform Work in Linux instances to troubleshoot issues and manage environment; convert configurations into IaC Utilize Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to streamline application instance deployment Identify, assess, and remediate security findings and vulnerabilities using AWS Security Hub, Tenable, etc. Maintain a high security posture within AWS accounts through automation and secure resource templates, such as AMIs, AWS Secrets Manager, and AWS Certificates Manager Create and configure AWS Security Groups along with IaC environment delivery that narrow access vectors Apply network configuration (Load Balancer, AWS Transfer Family – SFTP services; define firewall rules) per application architecture requirements Provision, validate, and track storage allocations per application team requirements (EC2, S3, EFS, etc) Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and response (CPU, memory, I/O performance, network throughput) Collaborate with other support teams to configure tools for security compliance/monitoring (Splunk, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, application and server logs) Work directly with federal customer’s engineering and operations teams to collaborate on and execute tasks Work independently given objectives and priorities. Clearly document design and implementation decisions. Report status to leadership Proactively communicate and collaborate on team huddles, status calls, and troubleshooting sessions Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline 0-3 years of relevant experience Knowledge of networking concepts such as Ports/Protocols/IP Knowledge of AWS Cloud Administration, Terraform Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, AMIs, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Certificates Manager, EC2 Scripting, Lambda Knowledge of AWS Security and Management Services (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, IAM) Understanding AWS storage concepts related to EBS and S3 Knowledge of Git for source code version control Knowledge of at least one programming language (C#, Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) or shell scripting language (POSIX shell/Bash, PowerShell, etc.) Ability to develop and contribute while working seamlessly via collaboration tools Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technology, and keep current with industry certifications Desired qualifications AWS Cloud Practitioner AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or higher CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $50,800.00 - $134,100.00.
