Job Description
Lightspeed Datalinks is seeking a Cabling Installer for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of cabling systems for communication networks in commercial environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Installation : Install and configure network cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables, in office buildings and commercial facilities.
· Maintenance and Repair : Perform regular maintenance and repairs on cabling systems to ensure they function correctly.
· Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues with network cabling using tools like signal strength meters and network analyzers.
· System Configuration : Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to configure and install systems accurately.
· Compliance : Ensure all installations comply with state and local building regulations and safety standards.
· Documentation : Maintain records of all installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities for future reference.
· Customer Support : Communicate with customers about the installed systems and handle any inquiries or complaints.
· Collaboration : Work with other technicians and construction teams when installing new systems
Skills and Qualifications:
· Technical Skills : Proficiency in installing and maintaining network cabling systems, including knowledge of different cable types and connectors.
· Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix system issues.
· Attention to Detail : Ability to follow detailed plans and ensure precise installation.
· Communication : Good communication skills.
· Physical Stamina : Ability to work in various environments, sometimes requiring physical effort.
