Description: WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Spanish invites applications for a permanent, non-tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Teaching Professor of Spanish, effective July 1, 2026. The teaching professor position at Wake Forest University is a full-time, non-tenure track position with the possibility of promotion on a teaching-focused career path. Research is not required; renewal and promotion are based on teaching and service. Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Spanish is required for the position; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Qualified applicants will have the following: experience teaching undergraduate Spanish language courses in a U.S. 4-year college or university setting; professional activity related to the pedagogy of language, literature or culture; and native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English. Position Summary: The successful candidate will join a department known for its high-quality, engaged teaching. This individual will be expected to teach 6 courses per year in Spanish primarily at the beginning and intermediate level of the undergraduate curriculum, engage in professional development, and participate in departmental, College, and University service.
