Columbus Technical College is looking for an individual to fill the part-time Sign Language Interpreter role for the Adult Education program. This person will be responsible for providing interpreting/transliterating services for deaf and hard of hearing students. This position is part-time/non-exempt. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide Interpreting/transliterating in a classroom setting, meetings, registration, testing, tutoring, counseling, etc. for deaf or hard of hearing students
• Provide academic advising to deaf or hard of hearing students
• Confer and plan with students, teachers, and other interpreters in preparation for assignments
• Other duties as assigned

• Skills in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
• Skills in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner
• Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely
• Ability to interpret and translate college-level courses

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of related work experience

Salary/Benefits
Pay rate is $30 an hour, no benefits.
